"...Wales' brightest young musicians and composers"
(The Western Mail)
Cardiff New Music Collective was formed in 2003, and is a prominent voice in contemporary music in Wales. It has numerous dedications and commissions to its name, including improviser and composer Keith Tippett, SPNM Shortlisted composer Paul Jones, and Andrew Wilson-Dickson. CNMC has inspired a significant body of music and has been involved in a multitude of artistic projects, including visual exhibitions, contemporary dance, and film.
The Collective also aims to bring contemporary art music to audiences that might not normally have this experience, by playing in as wide a variety of venues as possible. They are passionate about new music and developing relationships with performers and composers alike through collaboration and experimentation. Their performances often incorporate elements such as improvisation, electronics and film, and the members see their role partly as helping to contribute to the contemporary chamber repertoire.
The Collective is also keen to work with a variety of promoters and other musical groups, so if you are one of these or a composer with some music you'd like performed, please get in touch for discussions!
